Our ‘Construction Services’ qualifications are designed to meet the needs of builders and managers of small and medium-sized construction businesses and trade workers in formwork / falsework, concreting and construction waterproofing.
Registered or experienced builders deliver the Certificate IV and Diploma courses.
Experienced trades people deliver the Certificate III courses. Delivery is mainly on the job. Competencies in common skills required for all trades are included.
Building and Construction
Completing the dual qualification, Certificate IV and Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) means you will have gained the required knowledge to submit an application to become a registered builder in the class of Domestic Builder (Unlimited), with the Victorian Building Authority. Registration and Licensing of Building Trades
Recent amendments were made to the Building Act 1993 to:
- Provide the registration of building trade contractors and sub-contractors; and
- The licensing of building employees
A registration or a license will be required to perform certain building work which will be prescribed in building regulation (‘prescribed work’).
Priority areas of building work include:
- Carpenters (and framers)
- Footing and foundation workers
- Bricklayers and
- Water proofers

National Training Services offers Certificate III level qualifications in Formwork / Falsework, Concreting and Construction Waterproofing to assist trade workers meet registration and licensing requirements.
Diploma and Certificate IV courses in Building and Construction are offered via scheduled on-line training sessions and in classrooms at our training centre in Thomastown.
All Building and Construction Industry courses are delivered by National Construction Training (NCT), which a trading name of National Training Services Pty Ltd (RTO 21254).
