COURSE OVERVIEW – CONSTRUCTION WATERPROOFING

The CPC31420 Certificate III in Construction Waterproofing reflects the role of waterproofers working in internal, external and below ground wet areas on residential and commercial projects. It is also a useful qualification for tilers and plasterers.

This practical course is delivered mainly on the job, allowing participants to learn, validate and improve their skills and knowledge within their trade. Some units may require attendance at our training session if they involve work you are not normally undertaking on a regular basis such as below ground waterproofing.

This qualification has core units of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as specialist units in waterproofing field of work.

This course is delivered by National Construction Training (NCT), a trading name of National Training Services Pty Ltd (RTO 21254).

    WHO IS CONSTRUCTION WATERPROOFING FOR?

    This qualification is suitable for those who are currently undertaking waterproofing tasks in the building and construction industry and are looking to become qualified in preparation for the introduction of new Victorian Building Authority trades registration requirements which have been approved by the Victorian Government.

    Holding the waterproofing qualification will assist waterproofers to provide a statement that they have complied with the relevant Standard in compliance with the National Construction Code.

    DURATION

    Training for this qualification is conducted on the job over 10 months.

    ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

    There are no prerequisite qualification requirements, however applicants should be employed with the building and construction industry.

    You must have completed unit CPCWHS1001 Prepare to Work safely in the construction industry prior to commencing the course. Either a Statement of Attainment must be submitted as evidence prior to commencing the course or they must confirm having a valid White Card by selecting the option ‘Yes’ in ‘Vocational Education and Training Qualification History’ section of NTS Enrolment Application Form.

    TUITION FEES

    National Training Services can access state government funding for this qualification through the Victorian Skills First funding program. Participants who are eligible for Skills First funding will pay no tuition fees. If participants are not eligible for funding a fee may be required, please contact NTS for details on fee for service costs.

    You may be eligible for Skills First Funding if you are:

    • an Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen, or a holder of an approved bridging, protection, safe haven or humanitarian visa; and
    • living in Victoria
    • enrolling in no more than 2 Skills First funded programs this year

    CERTIFICATION

    To be awarded the CPC31420 Certificate III in Construction Waterproofing, competency must be achieved in nineteen (19) units. These are comprised of:

    • Fourteen core units
    • Five elective units

    Students who complete these qualifications may wish to continue study with either:

    CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building)

    Dual Qualification – CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction and CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building)
