COURSE OVERVIEW – WALL AND FLOOR TILING

CPC31320 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling provides a trade outcome in wall and floor tiling for residential and commercial construction work. The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as the specialist field of work, wall and floor tiling. Tilers work with materials like ceramic, glass, slate, marble, and clay. They cut these materials and lay tiles on walls and floors, both interior and exterior. They may also add decorative touches to their basic work.

This CPC31320 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling course is delivered on the job, allowing participants to learn, validate, and improve their skills and knowledge within their trade.

    WHO IS THE WALL AND FLOOR TILING COURSE SUITABLE FOR?

    This qualification is suitable for those who are currently undertaking wall and floor tiling tasks in the building and construction industry and are looking to become qualified to advance their career, and in preparation for the introduction of new Victorian Building Authority trades registration requirements which have been approved by the Victorian Government.

    Holding the wall and floor tiling qualification will assist tilers to provide a statement that they have complied with the relevant Standard in compliance with the National Construction Code.

    DURATION

    Training for this qualification is conducted on the job over 13 months.

    ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

    There are no prerequisite qualification requirements, however applicants must be employed and undertaking tiling work in the building and construction industry.

    You must have completed unit CPCWHS1001 Prepare to Work safely in the construction industry prior to commencing the course. Either a Statement of Attainment must be submitted as evidence prior to commencing the course or applicants must confirm having a valid White Card by selecting the option ‘Yes’ in ‘Vocational Education and Training Qualification History’ section of NTS Enrolment Application Form.

    TUITION FEES

    National Training Services can access state government funding for this qualification through the Victorian Skills First funding program. For the Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling, Skills First funding is only available to participants who are Apprentices.

    Participants who are eligible for Skills First funding will pay no tuition fees.

    If participants are not eligible for Skills First funding a fee will be required. Contact National Training Services for details of fees or review the details on the Statement of Fees for Floor and Wall Tiling.

    You will generally be eligible for Skills First Funding for this qualification if you are:

    • an Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen, or a holder of an approved bridging, protection, safe haven or humanitarian visa; and
    • living in Victoria
    • enrolling in or undertaking no more than 2 Skills First funded programs this year
    • currently employed, or about to be employed, as a tiling apprentice in Victoria

    CERTIFICATION

    To be awarded the CPC31320 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling, competency must be achieved in twenty (20) units. These are comprised of:

    • Seventeen core units; and
    • Three elective units
